Another wild weekend of action in Major League Soccer headlined the topics of discussion on the latest episode of The SBI Show, as the number of playoff contenders, and Supporters Shield, contenders continued to shrink.

Episode 82 of The SBI Show looked back at the weekend’s full slate of matches, including New York’s impressive win vs. Houston, Montreal’s gutsy comeback victory against Philadelphia, and more.

Co-host Garrett Cleverly and I also discuss the exploits of some of the more impressive performances among Americans Abroad this weekend, and we also hold the latest installment of The SBI Show Q&A.

  1. I think if it comes down to Boyd and EJ for the WC team; my guess Klinsmann takes EJ. EJ is more versatile.

Boyd will definitely be a player to look for during the 2018 WC cycle.

    • EJ is more productive than Boyd.

Boyd has had limited minutes but what minutes he has had have been extremely mediocre, chicken with its head cut off stuff.

The only reason I can see for his continued inclusion is his extreme upside potential. However AJ’s fast US start most directly affects Boyd.

  2. Aron Johannsson and Jozy Altidore have had equally productive careers. Both have struck in 38% of official games, yet Altidore is older and has a much longer career. So glad he is suiting up for the USMNT.

  3. You ought to post a link on the SBI Show page that you can use for questions for the show via Twitter. I have a Twitter account but I don’t have a clue of how to send in a question.

    • Just add #AsktheSBIShow at the end of your tweeted question. They see whatever people tweet with that hashtag.

But I agree it would be nice to have a simple submission form on this site.

  4. What in the world was up with that somber ass outro tune? I couldn’t help but picture yall walking in slow motion away from some lonely pier somewhere, with leather jackets and sunglasses for days.

  5. Great show, guys (and also for the prior show). Also, this was not the longest show. If I recall, there was a show that was in the 1 hour 40-something minute range. Keep’em coming…
