With a number of starters missing from both teams due to suspension, injuries, and international call-ups, the lone meeting between the Los Angeles Galaxy and Montreal Impact (10:30pm, MLS Live) this season will see a number of youngsters given a chance to shine.

Jose Villarreal, Jack McBean, and Gyasi Zardes all start for the Galaxy as Landon Donovan, Omar Gonzalez, Jaime Penedo, and Robbie Keane (on the bench) miss out. On the other side at the StubHub Center on Wednesday evening, the Impact see all five of their homegrown signings in the 18-man game day roster, with league leading goal scorer Marco Di Vaio leading the front line alongside former No. 1 pick Andrew Wenger, though central defense duo Matteo Ferrari and Alessandro Nesta miss out.

A game that two weeks ago may not have had much meaning suddenly is a must-win for both squads. Each team sits in fourth place in their respective conferences and needs to win to keep up with the pack in a tight playoff race at the end of the 2013 MLS season.

This was only available on Time Warner in LA so why would they throw up a running commentary and not just a simple post game review. Either way, Opare is coming up huge and getting the PT he needs to fill in as a solid #3 CB for the team. I hope we can trade Leonardo and some practice cones for Bocanegra from CUSA.

Agreed Leonardo isn’t that great, but is Boca (at this stage of his career)? I haven’t watched enough Chivas games to make a judgement. Yeah, he’s Bocanegra, but I honestly don’t know if he’d be an upgrade from Leo.

Brian Rowe could be an incredible keeper. He does such a good job killing attacks before they start. Quick sharp distribution too. Really impressed.
