The Philadelphia Union may not have expected it this morning, but by the end of the night, they could find themselves as high as third place in the Eastern Conference standings.

With the Montreal Impact’s 1-0 defeat to the New England Revolution this afternoon, the Union’s match against D.C. United at RFK Stadium takes on even more meaning. John Hackworth’s side will play without their two starting full backs due to suspension, meaning that the side will have to be tinkered around a little bit.

Also in action tonight, the Chicago Fire travel to Frisco, Texas to face FC Dallas, with the hosts needing a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Anything short of the full three points means the end of the season with two games remaining.

Finally, in the North American Soccer League, the first-place New York Cosmos host second-placed Carolina RailHawks with a chance to extend their lead at the top of the standings.
