Wake Forest recorded their 400th victory in program history as the No.13 ranked Demon Deacons in the SBI College Soccer Rankings defeated the sixth-ranked Maryland Terrapins 4-3.

Senior midfielder Luca Gimenez recorded two goals and one assist as the Demon Deacons raced out to a 4-1 halftime lead. Maryland senior Patrick Mullins struck a penalty kick in the 56th minute and freshman Michael Sauers gave the home side hope with a strike from 20 yards on the hour mark, but Wake Forrest held on to stay atop the ACC alongside Notre Dame while Maryland fell for the first time this season in conference play.

On the other side of the country, the California Golden Bears needed a late goal to defeat Stanford, 1-0, and keep their number one ranking. Senior Steve Birnbaum tucked home the rebound after missing an 86th minute penalty kick for his Pac-12-leading eighth goal of the season. Cal remains unbeaten at 10-0-2 (4-0-1 in the Pac-12).
