    • I watched the second half and he looked better then he had recently for Schalke. I’ve also been trying to figure out why its not working on the US.

      • He doesn’t trust his teammates on USMNT, so he tries to do too much (roam, create, challenge, abuse freedom Jürgen gives him)??

      • Those are his strengths I’d say Where he struggles is dropping back and picking the ball off the backline and transititioning into an attack. He also isn’t great at keeping the ball and connecting simple passes. He just kind of gets lost when we are on the ball for any period of time. I kind of feel that he is best in the counter attacking style Klinsmann so badly wants to get away from.

      • Perhaps due to his current situation at the club. Seems, that Schalke won’t longer his contract. In an Interview JJ said, that he is ready to possibly leave the club in next summer.

  1. I know Ajax is a young team, but these kids are going to hurt someone. You should never even be in a position to heel-kick someone in the face… especially when they’re standing up straight.

Referee extremely lenient to not pull out the red card there.

  2. Well, the Dortmund-Napoli game is excellent. Napoli playing a very dirty style of soccer (and also diving a lot), Maggio with an elbow to the face of Bender, giving him a bloody nose and a ferocious albiol tackle from behind on Mkhitairian that should have been red but was given only yellow. Dortmund has scored one penalty kick and should have gotten a second penalty whehn Lewi was bumped down in the box a must win for dortmund and if Napoli wins they are through so second half should be wild and I would bet that we see at least one red card.

    • Yeah, Bender was fantastic. In that incident he got his nose broken, needed 3 more jerseys – so that they’d to fetch 1 more from the shop – and played through until the end of the game.
It was an exciting game with a great team display and a well deserved & much-needed win. MOM Mkhitaryan imo.

  3. Barcelona appear to be figuring out why they still have to play in this group given where they are in the standings.

Completely disinterested in this game across the board.

  4. Awful announcer in the Barca match. Neymar had a great chance and they didn’t change their tone of opvoice for even a moment. They may as well have been reading the obituaries aloud. Wake up fellas.

  5. Just an update to those TV listings above:
Basel-Chelsea is on Fox Sports 1
Arsenal-Marseille is on Fox Sports 2 (what used to be Fuel on most cable providers)

  6. Haha, that Ajax guy should be red carded for even having the gonads to think about claiming he got the ball there.

I mean wow. He was what, 6 to 8 feet from the ball? So ridiculous.
