  1. Ives, here’s one for you: How in HADES did Bruce Arena not get sent off in the Second Leg match when he stepped onto the edge of the field and kicked the ball during the run of play?

      • It’s a legitimate question. Dominic Kinnear got a one game suspension against NYRB by MLSDC when he left the area during the Montreal playoff game. There is a precedent set. Arena should get a one game suspension at the beginning of next year. Otherwise, it does stink of favoritism.

  2. Great show as always. I’m glad you caught a good soccer vibe from Atlanta! Now if only the haters that based their “anti-Atlanta MLS team” opinions off of something other than attendance stats from other sports teams in the city.

    • Well….even the Mexican National team doesn’t fill up Georgia dome….I mean you have to admit, when Atlanta had the Hawks in the top 3 or 4 of the NBA East and there was snow….they were getting less fans than Chivas USA? And that is a domed arena which is close mass transit rail/train lines no?

Another thing, I love that the new stadium keeps MLS and general soccer dimensions in mind…but hate that it is shared and turf on top of that….we need to get away from New England like set ups, at least Houston has grass other than maybe October and very last 2 weeks of September there’s no Football lines, hell last Sunday they were pretty much faded out. Unless you’re saying that Atlanta can pack a CONSISTENT 28-32K into this new proposed stadium, I don’t see why they are such a great option?

      • Call me crazy but I really do believe we could get that many fans. Would I rather have a SSS? Of course. But I think a team will thrive in Atlanta regardless of where they play. Also have you seen the pictures of the stadium design? If you have then you would know its not gonna be like New England. If anything it will resemble Vancouver and no one really seems to talk badly about their support.
