The Indiana Hoosiers moved a step closer to an improbable run to the NCAA Tournament after defeating Penn State in penalty kicks in Friday’s Big Ten semifinals.

The Hoosiers have a losing record, but the defending champions can secure a place in the NCAA Tournament with a win against Michigan State in Sunday’s Big Ten Final.

Providence pulled off one of the upsets of Friday’s conference tournament semifinal schedule, beating Georgetown to secure a place in the Big East Final. The Friars defeated the Hoyas in penalty kicks to earn a meeting with Marquette in Sunday’s final at PPL Park.

Virginia pulled off the comeback of the night, scoring two goals to tie Notre Dame before knocking off the SBI No. 1 Fighting Irish in penalty kicks. Cavalier goalkeeper Calle Brown made two saves in the penalty shootout to help Virginia complete the upset.
