Borussia Dortmund’s injury crisis has worsened heading into their German Cup round of 16 on Tuesday.

Though Jurgen Klopp’s side won against his former team Mainz 05, 3-1, on Saturday, Dortmund lost three more players to injury in the first half. Sven Bender (thigh) was forced off in the 33rd minute for Nuri Sahin, while Jakob Blaszczykowski (hip) and Marco Reus (calf) both were taken off at halftime.

The injuries continue to mount as Dortmund prepare for their German Cup match against FC Saarbrucken of the 3. Liga. Reus, Bender, Blaszczykowski, and Sahin join the likes of Neven Subotic, Mats Hummels, Marcel Schmelzer, and Ilkay Gundogan on the sidelines for the UEFA Champions League finalists from a year ago.

Here are some more stories to start your Monday:

PSG LINKED WITH EMERGING POGBA

One of the emerging stars of the last 12 months is Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, who has gone from obscurity in the Manchester United academy to starting alongside Andrea Pirlo for club and Franck Ribery for country.

Now, big money spenders Paris Saint-Germain have Pogba on their radar, and according to a report in Le Parisien in France, they’re interested in signing him next summer as a replacement for out-of-contract Blaise Matuidi. The 20-year-old Pogba is from an eastern suburb of Paris and has the same agent as current PSG players Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Maxwell.

The report doesn’t state a price but with a contract at Juventus through 2016, it is likely to take a large amount of money for a transfer to be agreed. This season, Pogba has taken a bigger role with the Italian champions, playing 20 times and scoring five goals in all competitions. Pogba has also earned seven caps for the France National Team in the last nine months and looks very likely to make the World Cup squad.

  1. It would make my holiday if Dortmund came in for Jozy Altidore or at the very least brought back Terrence Boyd. I would love to see either or both of those guys in the yellow and black.
