Two Chicago Fire players have made themselves unavailable for the second stage of the MLS Re-Entry Draft just hours before it is set to commence.

Both Logan Pause and Chris Rolfe opted out of the Re-Entry Draft on Tuesday, according to a Fire press release, likely meaning that they intend to sign new contracts with the club. Head coach Frank Yallop had recently mentioned that he and the front office were working hard to bring both players back, despite declining their contract options at the end of the season.

A report in the Chicago Tribune states that Pause and Rolfe have come to terms on new contracts with the Fire, though the club hasn’t publicly announced a deal.

Outside of a three year stint in Denmark, the Fire is the only club that Rolfe has played for in his eight-year professional career. Last season, the 30-year-old forward scored four goals and added an assist in 31 league games, though he added three more goals in the U.S. Open Cup.

Like Rolfe, Pause has only played for the Fire during his ten years in MLS, and is currently second all-time in appearances for the club. In 2013, Pause only played 15 times as he suffered through an injury-plagued year and was in and out of the starting lineup all season.
