The SBI Show: Episode 109 (Previewing USMNT-South Korea, talking MLS moves, and more)

U.S. Men’s National Team

By IVES GALARCEP

The first U.S. Men’s National Team match of the year kicks off on Saturday, and Jurgen Klinsmann will be fielding a starting lineup with many of his first-choice players, but also some players still fighting for a place on the U.S. World Cup squad.

On Episode 109 of The SBI Show, we discuss Saturday’s USMNT friendly against South Korea, including the players who have the most riding on the match, and the lineup we are likely to see take the field.

Co-host Garrett Cleverly and I also discuss the latest MLS moves, including Fredy Montero’s permanent move to Sporting Lisbon and what it means for Seattle.  We also talk about Freddy Adu and where he stands these days after word that he is training with English League Championship side Blackpool.

  1. I always enjoy the show, but in this episode like a number of others way too much time, energy, and verbiage is spent lecturing the over reactive fringe of US fans. I realize such people exist, and they are generally the type of people who like to post in your comment sections. But give the majority of your listeners a little more credit please! Such 5-minute lectures really aren’t necessary and detract from the rest of the show.

  2. Per Mix…I think this match is important for him in that this is a match where he should run the show and be the focal point of creating chances. IMHO JK wants to see if Mix can take on a leadership role rather than just adding value.
