MLS- Chicago Fire

Fire bring back Atouba, Kelley on new deals

Yazid Atouba Chicago Fire (Chicago Fire)

They may not have played much in 2013, but Yazid Atouba and Kellen Gulley will be with the Chicago Fire this season.

Chicago announced on Tuesday that it has re-signed Atouba, a 21-year-old Cameroonian midfielder, and Gulley, a 19-year-old American forward. Atouba re-joins the Fire after making three appearances for the club in 2013 and Gulley returns after spending the previous year with NASL’s Atlanta Silverbacks.

Gulley initially signed with the Fire as a Homegrown Player back in Aug. 2011 while Atouba was selected by Chicago in the second round (30th¬†overall) of last year’s MLS SuperDraft.

Per MLS and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

What do you think of the Fire bringing back Atouba and Gulley? Do you see them earning more minutes in 2014? Which player has more of a chance to make an impact this season?

    Whoo hooo!!!!

Others teams get Bradley, Defoe, Edu and we get these too back. Yes !
Hopefully Gulley will dominate MLS like he did the NASL

As we have been paying Puppo I think it is good that Yallop has another look, after all, our previous technical staff have been proven pretty hapless in the international market. Puppo, John, and McDonald etc come to mind. Perhaps Puppo can bolster the squad given he counts on the cap in any case.
