Amando Moreno (New York Red Bulls)

The U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team will gather for the first camp of 2014 later this week, and the New York Red Bulls will be well represented.

Sources have told SBI that the Red Bulls trio of Amando Moreno, Matt Miazga and Santiago Castano have been included in a roster selected by head coach Tab Ramos for a U-20 camp that will begin in Sarasota, Fla. on Friday. Sources have also informed SBI that Red Bulls academy player Arun Basuljevic has been called in by Ramos as well.

Moreno, Miazga and Castano all signed HomeGrown Player deals with the Red Bulls ahead of or during the 2013 campaign. Moreno and Miazga both made their professional debuts with New York during the season while Castano was on the bench for several matches but did not feature in any of them.

The camp is expected to run from Jan. 3-12.

What do you think of Moreno, Miazga and Castano being included in the U.S. U-20 camp in Sarasota? Which do you think has the most potential? Think they will see more time with Red Bulls this upcoming season?

  1. Shame Arun Basuljevic of the RB wasn’t called in

Probably won’t happen this camp because of club obligations, but Fernando Arce…Jr, son of the Mexican national player, is speculated to be called up in the near future, as he’s a dual citizen.

That is going to be HUGE if it happens. I’m sure Mexico will do everything in their power to prefer such a thing though.

  2. R we sure these players are still part of the red bulls team given the organization’s propensity for axing players with the excuse of salary cap?
