Major League Soccer teams went unbeaten in CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal action against Mexican clubs at midweek, but the work is far from over as second legs loom.

In Episode 122 of The SBI Show, we look back at the two wins by MLS teams, with the LA Galaxy beating Club Tijuana and Sporting Kansas City edging Cruz Azul.

Co-host Garrett Cleverly and I also discuss MLS Week 2, and the top matchups to watch, including Seattle vs. Toronto FC, and we answer some reader questions in the latest SBI Show Q&A.

  1. Having some editing issues there Garrett? Second show in a row with countoffs left in, plus a non-PG moment from Ives… (also it appears Ives is even meaner to Garrett in the outtakes than in what’s left in the show)

Still love the show though, as usual!

    • Garrett was on his way to Vegas that day so he rushed it, a revised version was posted later. And I’m not mean to Garrett, just crack the whip from time to time. LOL

  2. Hey Ives, Yo What’s up?,
You ever get a chance to check out Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles.

  3. CCL SJE v Toluca- The point of the game is SJ blew several chances and could have gone up 3-1. I’ll give Toluca the possession but all the other stats heavily favor SJE.

You are correct however, now the hill is too steep to climb.

    • The Quakes are built to win the kind of match. Tough defense, dominate set pieces and counter with pace on the wings. It will be difficult but this is a tough minded bunch even at altitude.

      • Their chances are slim especially that leg 2 will be at Nemesio Diez aka HELL. I wouldn’t be surprised if Toluca wins by 3-4 goals.
