A weekend of wild finishes headlined MLS Week Four, and provides the lead topic in the latest episode of The SBI Show.

Episode 127 takes a look back at a weekend that saw three stoppage-time game-winning goals scored, as well as three other outcomes decided in the closing minutes of matches. We also look back at Real Salt Lake’s dismantling of Toronto FC.

Co-host Garrett Cleverly and I also talk about recent changes with the U.S. Men’s National Team, including Tony Beltran’s inclusion, and what Brad Evans’ absence will mean for the right back position against Mexico. We also discuss the SBI Show Party taking place in Phoenix on Tuesday, the day before the big USA-Mexico friendly.

  1. Ives takedown of DC United’s “they did a makeover, give them time” is epic. Laughing hard at his imitations of ranting fans. Boom.

  2. Yes Ives, I know of at least one Dallas fan that is sitting on pins and needles waiting for the bottom to fall out like it did last year, but I think you’re absolutely right…Pareja has found the magic juju to grind out the results, and as long as we can keep 75% of the squad healthy there’s no reason why we shouldn’t make the playoffs, and possibly even make a run at the supporter’s shield.

And thank you Garrett for pointing out how good Acosta looked. His performance was overshadowed by Mauro and the drama/shenanigans, but I think he very well could put Zach Loyd out of a starting spot when he gets back to fitness.
