Must-See Goals

Must-See Goal: Hamdi Salihi

  • MiamiAl

DC United did not give this guy a full chance. He was scoring goals even when he was only coming in for limited minutes.

agreed. I never understood why we offloaded him and Maicon Santos. Both could score goals. Now the team scores 0 (well, here’s hoping EJ and Espindola can change that).

  • Enos

Ben Olsen and Dave Kasper are morons. That is the only reason Salihi was never given a fair shot. They will both be gone before the season is done and DCU is out of the playoffs early again.

good thing we kept Pajoy over this guy. lets see some videos of Pajoy tracking back into midfield instead.

    • Madaoua05

Salihi was making DP money without DP production. Pajoy, while not as productive, cost about 1/3 as Salihi.

Both were terrible. But I suppose you could say that, given Pajoy’s production (33 games/5 goals) was less bad for the money when compared with Salihi’s production (22 games/6 goals).

since you like statistics…check how many minutes they each played

you’ll get a clearer picture of the situation

        better yet actually watch them

there are plenty of better fwds than Hamdi but LP is NOT one of them

  • Bill Brasky

Great goal, but not even the best bike of the weekend. Benteke’s was sublime.

  • Brain Guy

You can almost see the wheels turning in his head as the ball approaches. Planning and execution were both brilliant.

This is what our game winning goal against Portugal in the WC will look like!

  • DWE4

That play would never work for DC United. First of all, Salihi’s team was quick in transition and had numbers forward. You can’t do that when your forwards are defending the top of the midfield diamond. DC United didn’t score 22 goals in 34 games by TRYING to push players into the 18!
