U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team regulars Haji Wright, Christian Pulisic, and Alejandro Zendejas were selected by head coach Richie Williams in 20-player squad that is set to begin a three-match tour of the Pacific Northwest from March 7-18.

A large contingent of Williams’ squad is based at the U.S. Soccer’s Residency Program, with 17 of the team’s 20 players joining the team from the Bradenton, Fla. campus. The three non-residency players, Edwin Lara, Tyler Adams and Nicholas Taitague, are eligible for the U-15 team.

MLS academies are also feature heavily in the squad, as the New York Red Bulls, Chivas USA, Crew Soccer Academy and LA Galaxy Academy will all be represented.

The team will begin its tour with a March 7 matchup with the Seattle Sounders Reserves/U-17/18’s in Seattle, where the team will get to attend the Sounder’s opening kickoff against Sporting Kansas City. The team will then travel to Portland to take on the University of Portland Pilots on March 12 before finishing the series with Portland Timbers Reserves/U-17/18s on March 17 in a match played at Providence Park.

  1. Wright and Pulisic are among the features of an impressive bunch. Golden Generation? Probably not, but these guys are fun to watch as they grow.

I think Wright / Green comparisons are better than Adu comparisons, myself.

    • Nicholas Taitague a 99 was added, he could be the Gem of this group. I agree they have been exciting to watch and when you add Joshua Perez and Danial Barbir you have the makings of a team that could go far.
