MLS is hitting radio airwaves this season.

MLS announced on Thursday that SiriusXM FC, SiriusXM’s exclusive 24/7 soccer channel, will offer live nationwide coverage of the 2014 season. SiriusXM will feature a live “MLS Game of the Week” broadcast throughout the regular season plus coverage of the AT&T MLS All-Star Game, MLS Cup playoffs and MLS Cup final.

“Major League Soccer continues to grow in popularity and we’re excited to expand our coverage to deliver more MLS games than ever before to our listeners across the country,” said Steve Cohen, SiriusXM’s SVP of Sports Programming, in a statement.  “Soccer fans are among the most passionate fans in sports and SiriusXM FC offers those fans a level of access to their sport that few other media outlets do.”

SiriusXM began carrying select MLS games back in 2012, but this year’s coverage will be the most extensive schedule aired by the satellite radio provider to date.

Week 2’s featured matchup will be the game between the Seattle Sounders and Toronto FC. Pre-game coverage for the Saturday showdown begins at 4pm ET.

  1. Can’t live with out XM. Plain radio just doesn’t do it for me anymore. All those commericals. If only they could come out with an all MLS Channel with lower division news and scores to fill in the gaps. Or even better an MLS NETWORK on TV.

  2. I use TuneIn and IHeartRadio apps to find the local radio broadcasts of these games. Most teams offer a free stream through these two if you take the time to find it.

It is good to see Sirius picking up more MLS content.

  3. I actually listened to last week’s airing featuring SEA vs. SKC. I was returning from a road trip on I-10 in the middle of nowhere. It was really nice to be able to tune in. Thanks SeriusXM!

      • I thought Extra Time Radio was already on Sirius? Though I don’t know what the future of that show is going to be without Nick Firchau… I think March to the Match is the better podcast anyway though. They need to get that on Sirius.

    • +1000! Listened to the Seattle-KC game last weekend. It is great how you can still follow your team when you don’t live in that market anymore thanks to SiriusXM!

  4. Is that the same Steve Cohen that hosted World Football Daily and Fox Football Fone In? Just wondering. I used to love WFD when it was on Sirius everyday

      • No. Two different guys. Although WFD’s Steven did have to deal with the other Steven Cohen when they carried WFD.
Funny story, when Liverpool fans were sending WFD’s Steven Death threats many hundred of them accidentally got the other Steven Cohen’s email thanks to a google search gone wrong. Sometime after that the sirius one started going by Steve instead of Steven.
