Bayern Munich have locked down one of their core players for the next three years.

The German club announced on Wednesday that Arjen Robben has signed a new contract through June 2017, which will keep him at Bayern until he’s 33-years old. Though contract details weren’t disclosed, SportBild reported last February that Robben’s salary would be around €8 million per season.

“I’m delighted we’ve now signed the new contract and I’ll continue pursuing trophies with FC Bayern,” Robben said in a statement. “I’m now in my fifth season in Munich and there will be three more after this. There can be no better indication of how happy my family and I feel to be here and how much I enjoy playing for this club and with this team. I’m looking forward to the years ahead – and to plenty more trophies with FC Bayern.”

Robben has been a key member of Bayern since joining the club in 2009, winning nine titles in that span. This season, the Netherlands international has scored 18 goals in 31 games in all competitions.

Here are some more stories to start your Wednesday:

REAL MADRID LOSE JESE TO SEASON-ENDING INJURY

Real Madrid advanced in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night but they also received some tough news following the game.

Real Madrid announced following the game that star youngster Jese Rodriguez had suffered a complete tear of his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, ruling Jese out for the rest of the season. Jese suffered the injury only two minutes into Real Madrid’s match against Schalke 04, and was eventually substituted off for Gareth Bale in the eighth minute.

Jese has been a bright surprise in his first year with the Real Madrid first team, scoring eight goals in all competitions, playing mostly off the bench.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has backed Jese to come back from the injury even stronger. “He was unlucky,” Ancelotti told Real Madrid’s website. “We are going to lose a very important player, a young man who has done very well this season and surprised everyone. That is football. Injuries come in a player’s career and we will be close to him and support him and we’ll be waiting for him next season.”
