If you are hungry for some quality soccer, there is a scrumptious pair of matches on tap that should fill your appetite.

The UEFA Europa League semifinals are set to get underway on Thursday with two match-ups that hold plenty of intrigue, as Benfica lock horns with Juventus in a battle of European heavyweights (3:05pm, ESPN Deportes/DirecTV/Fox Soccer Plus) at Estadio Da Luz while Sevilla and Valencia square off in an all-Spanish affair in the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan (3:05pm, ESPN3/Fox Soccer 2Go).

All four clubs possess plenty of quality on both sides of the ball, which should make these opening legs as entertaining as the UEFA Champions League semifinals matches from earlier in the week.

  2. amazing at how prestigious the Portuguese league is. Ranked 5th by UEFA. Been in the top 6 for a decade. Only has 10 million people. 16 clubs in the first division. And literally the country has no money but Porto and Benfica are 2 of the biggest clubs in the world and they’ve produced Ronado. impressive

  3. I for 1 am a big fan of McBride commentating on the beautiful game. Much more so than Wynalda. Wynalda is too much of a fanboy. McBride states the techniques and does it eloquently.

    • Wynalda sounds like he’s sitting on your couch next to you talking about the game. No technical analysis at all…

And of course Gus Johnson is the human wikipedia page. “…who plays with Torres on the Spanish national team, which also features…”

  4. i wish Clint Dempsey had moved to Serie A years ago instead of joining Spurs. He had the talent to start for a Juventus or Roma or Napoli
