The New England Revolution travel to Canada today to take on Toronto FC in one of the more intriguing match-ups of MLS week nine.

Jermain Defoe is back in the starting lineup as TFC takes a full-strength team into today’s Eastern Conference showdown against a Revs side that is close to full strength as well now and enjoying a good run of form.

The red-hot Seattle Sounders will look to keep their form going when they take on struggling Philadelphia Union at CenturyLink Field. Clint Dempsey will look to carry over his scoring-machine form of April against a Union defense that has proved vulnerable at times.

In Portland, the Timbers play host to D.C. United as they search for their first win of the season. D.C. United comes into the match in good form.

Here is a breakdown of all of this weekend’s matches.

SBI will be providing live commentary on all of today’s matches so please feel free to share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.

  2. Omar should not even be in the group of 30 with the way he plays for the Galaxy…watching the game right now and its mistake after mistake with him so how will it be vs good teams compared to playing the Rapids

  3. No Powers again for the Rapids. That of course only improves chances for LD to break the record this evening at DSGP.

    • I have tried to find this information with Google. Based on my research, I am ready to report:

BILL BRADLEY NEVER PLAYED IN THE NIT TOURNAMENT.

However, he did have some appearances in the NCAA tournament, including a great run in 1965 that saw Princeton take third place in the tournament, after losing to Cazzie Russell and Michigan in the semifinal, in what was called the game of the year.
