The big Kahuna will be taking place this summer in Brazil, but that doesn’t mean the United States will be devoid of international soccer action.

Teams such as England, the Ivory Coast, Mexico, Spain, Portugal, and of course the U.S. Men’s National Team will be spending at least a few days if not a few weeks in the U.S. this summer, playing friendly matches ahead of the 2014 World Cup. Starting on Monday and extending through June 10, two days before the start of the World Cup, teams will be playing games from as far west as San Francisco to Boston, New Jersey, and Miami out east.

Teams will be bringing full squads and playing their best players in these final World Cup tune-ups, giving fans a great chance to see their idols that they can maybe only see on TV or on their computers.

Some of the key matches to keep an eye on are Bosnia and Herzegovina vs. Ivory Coast, Mexico against Portugal, and the USMNT vs. Nigeria.

    • Probably the most kick@ss post in a week. The mere fact that there is an after party for the Bosnia-Ivory Coast game is pure varsity awesome. I don’t live in St. Louis, though. Maybe I should move.

    • From now until eternity, we are looking at January Camp games and (maybe) a Gold Cup game.

      Yup. Two words. Tony Beltran.

    • My guess is time zones. These teams are playing here on their way to Brazil for the World Cup. The Euro teams came across 5 or 6 time zones for their final friendlies. The eastern time zone is actually one time zone too far from where most of the World Cup matches will be played. But Cali is 4 hours off from most of the Brazil stadiums. The idea is to adjust the body before first round matches and going that far west to come back east for 1st round matches doesn’t make sense.

  3. No offense but get over it. No Donovan.

Evans, Parkhurst, Goodson. Keep quiet. State what you have to say when the World Cup is over. Our 23 need to focus and no distractions. If any of those 3 thought they’d be starting in the WC, then they’re delusional. The coach picked his squad. Be gracious.

I get it. You’re upset. But be a professional and wish your teammates well.

Mike Magee, yes you’re funny buy you never had a shot with the NT. Ireland doesn’t even want you. why would we?

Our guys need to remained focus. Beat Ghana. Beat Portugal. Draw with Germany. Next round please

    • Are you kidding me?. Threadjacking an article with zero relevant content to say “get over it” is a standout performance, even in this fiasco discussion.

Having said that, I agree with your points. I was hoping SBI would be a good companion site for watching the games this summer, but I feel like it’s becoming the “I told you so” Hall of Fame. It’s not like I won’t be here anyway, but I will be bringing a vomit bucket

What is wrong with people? I do not know how people are letting a personnel decision ruin the excitement and anticipation of this thing that comes once every four years. Give it a rest— it’s not like this topic is not going to come back as soon as the tournament ends (well, yeah it’s not actually going anywhere… wishful thinking). Be excited. Be positive.

I actually saw a comment earlier from some guy claiming that JK had “ruined the World Cup for him and his kids”. Breathtaking really.

  4. I can’t decide if the “Winner’s Medal” motif on the Spain shirts is arrogant or awesome. Seems kind of weird honestly. I’d like it more on Zlatan.
