Few players are as hot as Karim Benzema is right now.

Just six days after scoring twice against Honduras, Benzema was at his best again, scoring a goal, setting up two others, and overall being a nuisance in the Switzerland defense’s side as France defeated Switzerland, 5-2. Benzema’s performance made him a clear choice for Man of the Match.

Benzema earned his first assist on Blaise Matuidi’s 18th minute goal before scoring his lone goal of the night off a sick outside-of-the-boot pass from Paul Pogba, with Benzema firing his shot on the half-volley through the Switzerland goalkeeper’s legs. Benzema then set up Moussa Sissoko in the 73rd minute, and nearly scored in stoppage time but the whistle had blown minutes before.

Benzema had even missed a penalty kick early in the game but it was easily enough for him to win this match’s honor. The Real Madrid forward beat out teammates Olivier Giroud and Mathieu Valbuena for the honor.
