DeAndre Yedlin’s participation in the MLS All-Star Game will prevent him from partaking in the inaugural MLS Homegrown Game.

Yedlin was removed from the original 20-man Homegrown Game roster on Tuesday due to his selection in the Aug. 6 match at Providence Park between the MLS All-Stars and Bayern Munich. That match comes two days after MLS debuts its Homegrown Game against the Portland Timbers Under-23 team, and the quick turnaround forced Yedlin’s withdrawal.

Two other players who also had to take themselves out of consideration for the Homegrown Game on Aug. 4 were Karl W. Ouimette and Wandrille Lefevre. The two Montreal Impact players have a CONCACAF Champions League group match on Aug. 5, and as such have to be with the club.

Yedlin, Ouimette and Lefevre were all replaced on the Homegrown roster, keeping the total number of players at 20. The replacement players are Philadelphia Union midfielder Zach Pfeffer, Real Salt Lake defender Carlos Salcedo and FC Dallas midfielder Danny Garcia.

Here are more notes from around MLS:

ROBINHO DECISION FORTHCOMING

Robinho’s future at the club level has not yet been decided, but it will not be much longer before a resolution is found.

Orlando City owner Flavio Augusto da Silva has said he expects Robinho to make a decision on his future within the next 10 days. Robinho has been heavily rumored to join fellow Brazilian star Kaka at the expansion MLS club in recent weeks, but da Silva said the move is not a done deal just yet.

“There are financial issues and there are other clubs interested,” said da Silva.

The 30-year-old Robinho is currently under contract at AC Milan.

THOMAS SIDELINED 6-8 MONTHS

FC Dallas midfielder Hendry Thomas always looked set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after the injury he suffered earlier this month, and now we know just how much time he will miss.

Thomas has been ruled out for 6-8 months after undergoing a successful operation to repair the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Thomas sustained the injury in the first half of FC Dallas’ 5-2 victory over the Carolina RailHawks in the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open Cup on July 9.

Before the injury, the Honduran veteran had started in nine of the 10 league matches he played in during his first season at FC Dallas. He had one assist.

What do you think of Yedlin being replaced on the Homegrown Game roster? Think Robinho joins Kaka in Orlando City? How do you expect FC Dallas to do in the long run without Thomas?

  1. Will anyone talk to ronaldinho for once………. Ronaldinho will never die in soccer fans. Bring ronaldinho to MLS, I said before that Chicago fire should go balls out and get ronaldinho, chicharito, and Beasley.
People say ronaldinho is old but he’ll yes I would take him over Donovan or Cahill. Ronaldinho will be another Beckham no matter what, and if galaxy or red bull get him, ronaldinho can help develop a real number 10 in MLS.
As for robinho, just come and you will get season tickets for every entertainment park on Orlando.

    • I haven’t seen Ronaldinho play in years, so I can’t speak to his current condition. Skill, ability or age has never been the issue. However, when the lifestyle and commitment are questioned I’d never consider Ronaldinho as a DP signing in MLS. That has disaster written all over it.

Javier Hernandez would be an amazing signing for the Chicago area, but I don’t foresee him signing in MLS (soon or at all).

      • He looks good, his playing like pirlo. As a matter of fact, his playing right now a super cup from South America and he won the libertadores last year with athletico mineiro. He still has the magic, and would juke an MLS player like butter. If I was red bull, I would get him ASAP before nycfc steals all the NYC fans.

      • Until Ronaldinho finds da club and all those great NYC restaurants. Remember Juninho was tearing up the Brazilian league too and he was a disaster, didn’t even last a full season.

Ronaldinho has Rafa Marquez laziness written all over him if he comes to MLS.

    • Ronaldinho would obviously be a ridiculous signing. Plus you say he plays like a true number 10, then you say he plays like Pirlo. Which is it?
