Tesho Akindele has put together a strong rookie season, and he showed on Friday why he was coveted by FC Dallas as the No. 6 overall pick in the 2014 MLS Draft.
Starting up top for the seventh consecutive game, Akindele combined well with strike-partner Blas Perez in the 26th minute, firing a lobbed pass on the volley past Philadelphia Union goalkeeper Zac MacMath to give FC Dallas a 1-0 lead. Akindele’s performance over the 90 minutes of the FC Dallas 2-1 victory earned him SBI MLS Rookie of the week honors.
The 22-year-old beat out Steve Birnbaum, Harry Shipp, and Jared Watts for this week’s honors.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by Tesho, he’s a solid, no-nonsense player and was able to plug right into the team without too much of a hiccup.
We’re starting to get back up to speed just in time to make the playoff push not necessarily an arduous uphill climb as it’s been in the past few years.
Not bad for a graduate of a School of Mimes
this tissue guy, is he american?
