The SBI Show: Episode 161 (Talking the young USMNT roster, MLS Week 25, and more)

USMNT, Jurgen Klinsmann

 By IVES GALARCEP

Jurgen Klinsmann went VERY young with his latest U.S. Men’s National Team roster, giving us plenty to talk about in the latest episode of The SBI Show.

Episode 161 of The SBI Show takes a closer look at the roster, which features four teenagers and eight players 21 or younger. It is the youngest national team squad in recent memory, and we discuss the decisions Klinsmann made, and what he is looking for out of this upcoming friendly vs. Czech Republic.

Co-host Garrett Cleverly and I also discuss MLS Week 25, and the top match-ups of the weekend, including the latest installment of the D.C. United-New York Red Bulls rivalry, as well as a very important tussle between Cascadia rivals Portland and Vancouver.

We also discuss some Americans Abroad, the UEFA Champions League draw, and we also answer some questions in the latest SBI Live Q&A.

  1. Alfredo Morales’s father is Peruvian (Became a U.S. citizen & enlisted in the military) and his mother is German. He has no Salvadoran origin that I know of.

  2. Civilization is my ish. I don’t play it very often, but I always get the new one, and like to binge on it a little, over an occasional lazy weekend.

I agree, and think SBI definitely should have guests on more frequently.

I really loved this episode, even though it was hella long, I felt the banter was great, and that the changes of subject moved at a refined pace.

  3. Justin Findlay, the guy making the Vegas bid, said that the stadium proposal still has to be voted on next Wednesday. He did seem pretty confident in that part getting done though. The interview was on 8/28 Soccer Morning.
