FC Dallas is on a roll, and surging toward a place in the Western Conference playoffs, and Fabian Castillo and Tesh Akindele are at the forefront of that surge.

This week’s SBI MLS Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week helped FC Dallas dismantle the San Jose Earthquakes, and Castillo and Akindele headline this week’s SBI MLS Best XI.

Joining them are Eastern Conference forwards Justin Meram and Dom Dwyer, who helped lead their teams to blowout victories. Joao Plata also earned a place as he continued his outstanding season for Real Salt Lake by leading RSL to an impressive win vs. the Seattle Sounders.

Here is the SBI MLS Best XI for Week 24:

    • If Hedges isn’t in the Jan. camp, I will be less than pleased with JK. All the qualities that attracted JK to Besler are abundant in Hedges: positional awareness, decent recovery speed/acceleration, dominant in the air, and a very consistent performer. And Hedges has the scoring touch over Besler as well: where Besler has scored twice in his 137 appearances for SKC, Hedges has scored 8 times in 77 appearances for FCD.

      • I hope so. He has made us forget that George John has been missing forever. Certainly earned a camp cupcake.

      • If you thing Besler is on the US team based on his scoring ability, you’re barking up the wrong tree. He’s the last man back on any corner/scoring opportunities. I agree with getting Hedges a call-up to the team, but being a better option than Besler at this point in time is ludicrous.

Although I couldn’t sign up fast enough to take Omar’s spot
