After emerging from the group unscathed, the Under-18 U.S. Men’s National Team continued their winning ways into the final of the International Tournament of Vaclav Jezek.
The U-18’s were crowned tournament champions Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Ukraine in Zlin, Czech Republic, due to a 47th minute Mukwelle Akale finish.
Akale, who was assisted by Cameron Lindley for the game-winning goal, was named the tournament’s top player. The 17-year-old had previously been named MVP of the 2014 Copa del Atlantico earlier this year.
U.S. goalkeeper Jonathan Klinsmann was also recognized for his performances. The 17-year-old was named the tournament’s top goalkeeper for his clean sheet in the final game, and for his with his three save performance in the tournament opener against Hungary.

Good job boys!
“You know what the Ukraine is? It’s a sitting duck. A road apple. The Ukraine is weak. It’s feeble. I think it’s time to put the hurt on the Ukraine.” – Cosmo Kramer, Vladimir Putin, and the U18s
Not funny. 1,000s dead in Ukraine already. har har.
The Cosmo Kramer bit was funny. What’s going on now isn’t. Not Bens fault Kramer was prophetic. Kramer also said this u 18 will get bounced out of real tournaments like all previous editions
Ukraine weak…
Yea!!! Now these kids will have something to look back on when tey get bounced out in the first round of the Olympics or u18 u23 world cup
Tool.
Yes we are the best u-18 team in the entire world. watch we win the U-18 world cup
Baby steps.
Ha ha ha I didn’t even know Klinsmann was on the roster until…OK sorry that is so 2 months ago.
careful that’s a future US number 1.
why are people upset over a kid insulting Donovan? it’s not as if he achieved anything close to what Klinsmann achieved.
This is why Howard is stepping aside for a year. So Klinsmann can bring his son in. Still unnecessary though because even if Klinsmann played his son above Howard, Gulati still wouldn’t fire him.
… this is a joke, right?
Don’t feed the trolls
Mukwelle Akale playing for Villareal. Hopes he sees some first team minutes or gets loaned out.
So many prospects. Have lost track!
