Donald Trump is not the owner of a Colombian soccer club — for now.

The New York Post first reported that the U.S. presidential candidate was interested in purchasing Colombian side Atletico Nacional Tuesday, but talks with the club have reportedly fallen through since then.

The Republican nominee’s $100 million proposal was turned down Thursday, and Trump does not think the team’s counter offer of $150 million was a wise decision.

“National wants $150 million to sell the club. For us, the proposal is unacceptable,” Trump said of the talks in a statement.

“Maybe they think we’re stupid. We had offered $100 million and that it was an important offer. We are not willing to offer more and continue negotiations. For us it is permanently closed. Now we will evaluate other clubs in Colombia, but not only.’’

Here are some more notes from around the soccer world:

SERGIO AGUERO MAY NOT START IN CHELSEA-MANCHESTER CITY SHOWDOWN

The 2014-15 English Premier League Golden Boot winner may not be fully fit for the biggest clash of the new season.

Sergio Aguero and Manchester City are set to meet EPL champion Chelsea Sunday, and although he came on as a late substitute in the team’s opener vs. West Bromwich Albion, Aguero said what matters most is that he gets into top form first before taking any risks.

“Whether I start or not remains to be seen,” he said on Manchester City’s website. “I’m trying to get there and be in top condition, but arriving for pre-season later having taken part in the Copa America with Argentina means I need some additional time.”

BENFICA INKS MEXICAN INTERNATIONAL RAUL JIMENEZ

After not seeing the field as often as he would have liked with Atletico Madrid, Mexican international Raul Jimenez has swapped clubs.

Jimenez signed a five-year deal with the Portuguese giant, saying in an official statement of the move: “I did not play the minutes I expected [at Madrid], but I believe in my worth and I want to show that I can help the team. I have the desire to play more to give the best of me. I know that it will not be easy. I’m in a great club and surrounded by high-quality teammates.”

The 24-year-old playmaker appeared 21 times for Madrid but only started four times under Diego Simeone.

GOALKEEPER DAVID DE GEA TO MISS ASTON VILLA AFFAIR

With a move to Real Madrid still a possibility, goalkeeper David De Gea appears set to sit out another Manchester United match Friday.

Manager Louis van Gaal is keen on starting Sergio Romero instead, telling MUTV: “The transfer period is still open and [De Gea] has still the same problem.”

De Gea has been heavily linked to Madrid, but Manchester United does not want to sell the shot-stopper for less than a record fee of $50.9 million or for at least the services of Sergio Ramos in return, according to Independent.

Van Gaal insists that until the window closes, De Gea will not be the first option in goal for United.

What do you think about Trump’s decision to move away from Nacional? How much time do you think Aguero will see vs. Chelsea?

      • Give it up dude. Everybody stereotypes…everybody!!! We would not be human if didn’t. By the way, read the post again. Where does he even mention coke? pppsss. Quit trying to stir it up

      • Stop taking so many things about Colombia personally. You are not the only Latino on the board. I like Colombia, but let’s not be naive about their lecherous drug riddled past (and not too long ago). I personally have a friend who knows someone killed by the drug trade in Colombia (..and no Brazil is not drug free either).

Colombia, Peru and Bolivia are STILL the world’s primary source coca (which produces cocaine). Mexico is primarily marijuana. Before people on this board start damning Colombia/Peru/Bolivia, the US is STILL the primary market for cocaine as well as Europe. Want the trade to stop, tell the customers to stop buying.
