The 2015-16 Premier League season kicks off on Saturday, and the title race is as open as ever following an eventful summer.

Reigning champions Chelsea enter the start of the new season with a good chance of repeating despite a series of lackluster showings in the preseason and Community Shield. Adding Radamel Falcao to a forward unit that already includes Diego Costa and Loic Remy, Chelsea appears to have the firepower to match the kind of stout defense that has come to represent a Jose Mourinho side.

Hot on their heels will be Manchester City, Manchester United, and Arsenal, the latter of which now boasts former Blues goalkeeper Petr Cech as its starter. Man City, meanwhile, completed a big-money move for Raheem Sterling, while the crosstown rivals have reloaded with the likes of Memphis Depay, Bastian Schweinsteiger and former Southampton star Morgan Schneiderlin.

In addition, dark horses like Liverpool and Tottenham remain in contention, as the two look to break into the Champions League places after settling for Europa League spots last season.

Who do you see as the favorites in the Premier League? Have your say in Friday’s SBI Reader Poll and leave a comment below with your predictions for this year’s Premier League season.

  1. I can give 16 clubs that no way will win it. It is at best a 4 team league and then a fight not to loser op many. Strive for non relegation.

  2. The last TWENTY titles have been won by Man U, Man C, Chelsea and Arsenal. You would be seriously delusional to pick anyone other than these four. The suspense is killing me…

  3. Arsenal. Serious depth, if anything a world-class striker would seal it. Still think Giroud/Walcott/Welbeck can get it done though.

  4. I wonder if people voted their preference rather than what they expect. I prefer Arsenal, but I don’t see Chelsea being beaten for first, as much as I dislike Mourinho.

  5. Chelsea again but Arsenal are their biggest competitors I think. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Arsenal win it either.

    • If Costa or Fabergas go down… I don’t think Chelsea can win.

At the same time, if Coquelin goes down its over for Arsenal. Both teams oddly weak in certain areas.
