It’s now or never for college teams across the country.
The Division I Men’s Soccer Selection Announcement will be broadcast live on NCAA.com on Monday (1 p.m.), but a majority of automatic bids still need to be claimed. Tournaments across the nation will wrap up come Sunday, and there is plenty to play for.
In the Big East Conference, fireworks are bound to pop off once again, as Creighton visits a red-hot Georgetown side at Shaw Field on Sunday (1 p.m., FOX Sports 2). Fabian Herbers just tallied his 15th goal of the year for the Bluejays in their semifinals victory, but Brandon Allen and Alex Muyl were just as excellent for the Hoyas during the week.
In the ACC, Syracuse visits Notre Dame in order to try to complete its remarkable run in this year’s tournament on Sunday (1 p.m., ESPN3). The Orange, led by junior forward Ben Polk, have taken down North Carolina and Clemson on the road to reach the final.
On the other side, the Fighting Irish experienced a rough patch towards the end of the season, but they have come alive in this year’s tournament. Patrick Hodan, Jon Gallagher, Thomas Ueland and the team’s stout defense will provide another tough test for the Orange.
Meanwhile, San Diego can win the West Coast Conference and claim a ticket to the NCAA tournament with a win or tie against Santa Clara on Saturday (10 p.m.). Stanford already claimed the Pacific 12 title, while Dartmouth and Rider will live to play another game as well.
