Fabian Johnson notches goal and assist in UCL romp

Fabian Johnson Borussia Moenchengladbach 31

Fabian Johnson played a major part as his Borussia Monchengladbach side marched to a 4-2 victory over Sevilla on Wednesday, scoring his second UEFA Champions League goal of the season and assisting on another.

The USMNT winger/defender curled a spectacular right-footed shot past the Sevilla goalkeeper to put his side up 2-0 at home.

Johnson’s goal and assist for Lars Stindl’s strike puts Monchengladbach in prime position to take third place in Group D and the resulting Europa League spot.

Earlier just this month, Johnson became the sixth U.S. player to score in the UCL with an equalizing strike against Juventus.

Here is Johnson’s goal:

    • Not that I care one way or the other but quality or not you don’t quit on your national team. That goes from the best player all the way to the third keeper.
