Soccer Tuesday: Your Running Commentary

Barcelona was held to a draw by Roma thanks to a wonder goal, Arsenal was defeated, and more in Wednesday's UEFA Champions League action.

Perennial Champions League knockout round teams will be putting it all on the line on Tuesday as the penultimate group stage match day kicks off.

In Group E action, AS Roma will travel to Camp Nou to face off against a red-hot Barcelona team. While Luis Enrique’s men have enjoyed a slew of outstanding results as of late, these two sides drew 1-1 in Rome several weeks back. Elsewhere in Group E, BATE Borisov hosts Bayer Leverkusen. The German team sits just one point behind Roma, and would likely leapfrog the Romans into second place in the group with a win this evening.

In Group F, Olympiakos will look to continue their impressive tournament with a result against giants Bayern Munich. Elsewhere, Arsenal faces a must-win against Dinamo Zagreb this evening in order to stay in contention for a Round of 16 spot. The English side managed an impressive victory over Bayern Munich at home on match day three, but decisively lost the reverse fixture last time out.

In Group G, Jose Mourinho and Chelsea will be looking for another rout of Maccabi Tel Aviv to possibly lock up their position in the Round of 16. For that to happen tonight, though, FC Porto will need to earn a home result against Dynamo Kyiv.

Even Group H offers some intrigue on match day five, as Valencia travels to Zenit St. Petersburg, with the Russian side having already solidified their spot in the next round. Valencia is in need of a win to break away from KAA Gent, who sits two points back with only two games to go.

Here is a rundown of today’s action:
