He may only be 17 years old, but American midfielder Christian Pulisic looked like a Borussia Dortmund regular during Tuesday’s friendly.

After coming on in the second half as a substitute, the U.S. Under-17 National Team midfielder dazzled during Dortmund’s 4-0 drubbing of Frankfurt in Dubai, assisting on the team’s third goal.

Pulisic pounced on a poor pass from the Frankfurt goalkeeper and sped down the right wing before centering the ball to first-team regular Shinji Kagawa in the 84th minute.

Pulisic was invited to join Dortmund’s first team training camp in Dubai last week. He will reportedly continue to train with the first team, and could join the senior squad for matches if called upon by head coach Thomas Tuchel.

Prior to joining the first team, he had scored 4 goals and provided 3 assists for the Under-19 team this season.

  1. I’m happy for the kid. I hope he continues to gain experience and grow as a player.
Wish this kid the best in his development.

  2. The second assist he should have had was even better. Played a nice give-n-go in the midfield around some players, then played a nice through ball into the striker, who chipped the keeper. Very tight offsides call prevented the goal.

  3. Nice pass through the legs of the defender. Seemed pretty simple. I guess that’s a good thing when you make plays look simple. Should be fun to watch his progress in the next few years.
