It didn’t take former Philadelphia Union head coach Peter Nowak long to find work, despite recent allegations tying him to disturbing abuse during his time in MLS.

Polish club Lechia Gdansk has hired the 51-year old Nowak to manage the side. Nowak won’t be able to begin coaching his new team until June 30, after the completion of the necessary coaching qualifications.

The club’s official release to the public stated that after strong considerations from the Polish Football Federation and the opinion of UEFA, Lechia opted in favor of signing Nowak amid the numerous rumors.

Prior to moving into the ranks of coaching, Nowak enjoyed an extended professional playing career before finishing up in 2002 with the Chicago Fire.

Lechia Gdansk currently sit 10th in the Polish Ekstraklasa table, 21 points off of the pace set by league leaders Piast Gliwice.

What do you think of Nowak’s hiring? What do you expect from his time with Lechia Gdansk?
