MLS Ticker: Crew, Zimmerman, RSL and more

News from the U.S. Men’s National Team’s January camp may be stealing the spotlight, but a couple reports from Scandinavia have revealed an MLS player to be and potential Viking FK signee.

The Columbus Crew are reportedly nearing a deal to acquire 24-year-old Odense Boldklub winger Emil Larsen. The Danish international has reportedly agreed to a two-year deal with an option to extend. (REPORT)

An American defender may soon be heading to Norway, as 22-year-old centerback Walker Zimmerman reportedly started a trial with Viking FK. He has made 37 regular-season appearances for FC Dallas during the previous three seasons. (REPORT)

Real Salt Lake owner Dell Loy Hansen wants to create a “world-class” training facility and academy in the Salt Lake Valley. A formal announcement of the plans could come as early as February. (REPORT)

LA Galaxy midfielder Steven Gerrard says he doesn’t think he’s cut out to be a manager just yet, and may possibly take a job with the English Football Association, if a position or role is available, when he retires. (REPORT)

  1. I hope we can hang on to Zimm unless we’re planning on making a big, possibly DP, CB signing in the next month…he’s a great young talent and I’d be sad to see him go, but if this is the best thing for him and his career then I’m happy for him.
