NASL Ticker: Rayo OKC, Miami FC, Rowdies, and more

As the offseason continues, several NASL clubs continue to fill out their roster ahead of the 2016 season, while Rayo OKC named its first head coach on Thursday:

After coaching at NASL side San Antonio Scorpions for four seasons, Alen Marcina was named Rayo OKC’s first head coach on Thursday. (REPORT)

After playing for many years with Norwegian side Mjøndalen IF, 28-year-old centerback Rhett Bernstein has returned to the U.S and has signed with Miami FC for its inaugural season. (REPORT)

Miami FC announced on Tuesday that the club had added former River Plate goalkeeper Mario Daniel “El Indio” Vega. In joining Miami FC, Vega joins David Sierra as the club’s goalkeepers ahead of the club’s debut season. (REPORT)

The Tampa Bay Rowdies signed 25-year-old midfielder Justin Chavez to a one-year deal on Thursday. (REPORT)

Midfielder Juan Guerra has rejoined the Tampa Bay Rowdies for 2016 with a club option set for the 2017 campaign. Guerra made 23 appearances, 19 of which were starts, for the Rowdies in 2015, while scoring two goals. (REPORT)

The Carolina RailHawks continue to revamp their roster after a disappointing 2015 season, adding three experienced signings in Paul Black, Marvin Ceballos and Billy Schuler on Wednesday (REPORT).

Midfielder Corey Hertzog and defender Zak Boggs have left the Tampa Bay Rowdies to join USL side Pittsburgh Riverhounds (REPORT).

  1. The Rowdies better perform this season, solid ownership, decent fan base, intact core of the team.

    No excuses if they aren’t able to challenge for the NASL title.

  2. As a Scorpions supporter I liked Marcina a lot. Great pickup by OKC. I wished the Spurs USL team had gotten him but best wishes to him and OKC.
