  1. Watched Pulisic earlier on Fox 1, now watching Zelalem on GOL. Awesome.

(Pulisic didn’t do as well as last week, but that was due to the fact he didn’t play as outside as he did last week. Until he adjusts to the speed of top level, maybe on the outside is best.)

And Zelalem is very active and looking dominant on the ball, but trying to pass too much instead of looking for his own shot.

    • I’d be fine with Zelalem playing another year at Rangers assuming they are promoted. The SPL is still below MLS standards but the continuity should be good for his development, he’ll be playing at a higher level than this year, and playing in the Old Firm games has to be good experience.

      • Dude. The second Sunderland goal by Defoe was no doubt a fine effort but wtf Mignolet on the free kick. Smh giving up 2 points to your fav EPL squad 🙂

      • Yeah ‘Pool might be a bigger lol than Sland – manager calls in sick, fans quitting on team, team struggling to beat the likes of Sland & Norwich

      • Calling in sick? He had to have his appendix removed. His team should have been able to hold a 2-0 lead with ten minutes left against Sunderland without him.

Billy Jones is terrible. It’s been so frustrating watching him play over Yedlin. It’s one thing if the guy in front of Yedlin is clearly better but here, he’s clearly not.

  2. While most of the attention will go to Pulisic, and rightly so, it has to be said that Brooks has improved quite drastically. His play today was upper echelon, his positioning was superb, his passing was crisp and he was a force in the air. His development is going to force Klinsmann to seriously consider keeping him for the qualifiers rather than the olympic playoff, and for Copa America if we make it to the olympics.

    • I highly doubt Miazga or Brooks will be allowed to play in Colimbia. I would now include Pulisic in that discussion as well, as Dortmound will ask that he nit be called in for a break. I think Yedlin could be allowed to play in qualifying. Who would control that decision Sunderland, Tottenham, or a combination of both?

    • I know I’m in the minority here but I couldn’t care less about Olympic soccer. Outside of 8 or 9 guys our U-23 roster is mostly junk and many of those exceptions are first-team regulars like Yedlin or Brooks. I suppose playing in the Olympics will be good experience but I’m just not that bothered by it.

  3. cool to see pulisic vs brooks in two top teams. thought brooks did well, although it seemed like hertha berlin were always just playing for the point. thought pulisic gave the ball away cheaply too many times; his positioning was interesting, as they moved him across the forward line–by the end of the game, he was playing as center forward.

    • A few of the passes to Pulisic were forced in and would be difficult for anyone to control never mind keeping possession and thus is often the case when one team is packing it in

      • don’t mean to be critical–i don’t think he played poorly or anything–but he was definitely giving the ball away more than other dortmund players. just trying to give a more informative perspective, as most will (rightfully) say that just seeing the field is an accomplishment for him.

  4. Pulisic on the bench for Dortmund. Let’s take a minute to acknowledge how damn impressive for this kid to have made the bench in back to back league games for a power like Dortmund.
