PLAYER OF THE WEEK

DIMITRI PAYET (West Ham United). Payet has been excelling all season for West Ham, but turned in one of his best performances of the season on Sunday in the FA Cup vs. Blackburn Rovers. The 28-year-old midfielder scored two goals, including a sensational free kick, and provided one assist to lead his side to a 5-1 win.

Honorable Mention– Thomas Muller, Zlatan Ibrahimovic

TEAM OF THE WEEK

AS ROMA. Coming off a disappointing home defeat to Real Madrid in the UCL, Roma bounced back in the best of ways. The club demolished Serie A side Palermo, 5-0, to maintain pace with Italy’s top teams this season.

Honorable Mention– Chelsea, Reading, Monterrey

FIORENTINA 3, ATALANTA 2. It took 67 minutes to get started, but once Matías Fernández netted the game’s first goal, the fireworks started going off in a hurry. Fiorentina came out on top of the wild five-goal game, maintaining its spot among the best in Italy.

Honorable Mention – America 3 — 3 Cruz Azul, Bayern Munich 3 — 1 Darmstadt, Borussia Dortmund 1 — 0 Bayer Leverkusen, Queretaro 2 — 2 Tigres UANL
