Bobby Wood can simply not stop scoring.

The U.S. Men’s National Team forward scored his ninth goal in the past eight games for FC Union Berlin, helping his club to a 3-1 win against Eintracht Braunschweig (BTSV) in the 2. Bundesliga on Friday.

Wood’s 58th-minute strike tied former USMNT forward Conor Casey for the most goals scored by an American during a season in Germany’s top two leagues. The 23-year-old has 14 goals for Union Berlin, and has scored a goal in each of the past six games for his club.

Friday’s match will be Wood’s last for Union Berlin until April 1, as the league takes a backseat to the international break.

Here is Wood’s goal against BTSV:

  1. If his team doesn’t get promoted, will some Bundesliga I team buy him? Let’s hope so so he can play with the “big boys.:

  2. Good quick-minded finish.

    Clint
    Jozy
    Wood
    Zardes

Not a bad top 4 depth chart going into the year. I’d be happy starting the first three in any match up top (Clint as false 9 per usual, wood and Jozy pinching in depending on play)

Morris, K-Sweat and Mark Rubio as the youth knocking on the door/gaining experience.

    Bring on Guatemala.

    • Mark Rubio? I think you’ve been watching too many debates, friend. 🙂

Jozy is not ready and Zardes isn’t international level, yet.

That said, I like Bobby and Clint’s current form.

      • It was a joke lol.
But Jozy is back in shape. He would have played last week if it were mid season. Tfc just had no rush to get him on the field in the second week of the season. He may not go 90 this weekend but he should be fine for at least 2 60s vs Guatemala

    • My brain assumed it was a joke and encouraged me into a chuckle. Next thing it did was start scanning all other USMNT player names of past and present so I could reply in kind, but alas, roughly 30 seconds into the exercise smoke started coming out of my ears.

    • replying just to point out that k-sweat is the same age as wood (and only a year younger than zardes), so i’m not sure i’d call him “youth”.
