After a slight hiccup by Leicester City on Tuesday, several English Premier League teams will attempt to close the gap on the Foxes on Wednesday.

Tottenham Hotspur, currently three points behind Leicester, will travel to sixth place West Ham United, while third place Arsenal will host Swansea City.

In another key English matchup, Liverpool and Manchester City will collide for the second time in four days. The Citizens defeated the Reds in penalty kicks during Sunday’s Capital One Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

Germany’s top two sides will be in action today, when Bayern Munich hosts Mainz and Borussia Dortmund travels to Darmstadt. Bayern currently holds an eight-point advantage in the Bundesliga standings.

In Italy, Inter Milan will attempt to pull off a massive comeback in the Coppa Italia semifinals against Juventus. The Bianconeri currently lead 3-0 before Wednesday’s clash at the San Siro.

MLS sides Seattle Sounders and Real Salt Lake look to advance to the CONCACAF Champions League semi-finals in the second leg of their respective matchups. The Sounders will meet Club America, while RSL hosts Tigres.

  1. America didn’t really seemed all too interested in the game but did just enough. Looks like an all Mexican Semi-final as I suspected.

  2. Surprised to see those two head goals by America with Marshal back there. Obviously not much he could do on those, but he’s usually the one to get to them.

  3. Leicester only getting a draw yesterday not so bad now that City, Tottenham and Arsenal all get beat. No one wants to win the Premier league this year, it seems.

  4. I know the kid is 17, but Dortmund have another 17 year old starting today in Felix Passlack. I know we shouldn’t be getting worried, but it makes you wonder why he’s not even on the team sheet for today.

    • Most likely Dortmund is giving a few promising young players a taste of the big stage for something to work towards. However the hype train has already took off with many saying he has to start for the US right now.

    • So Pulisic’s career is now OVER at Dortmund?? haha. Relax man. They gave him a sniff of the first team for a few weeks, and now its back down to the youth ranks to get some more PT. Not a big deal at all. He’ll be fine.

(plus by the sounds of Felix’s name…his teammates won’t be too fond of him. haha)

      • Haha, no career enders here. It was just a lot of fun seeing a 17 year old Yank (key number though 17) consistently on the team sheet for BVB. Here’s to hoping for a growth spurt and for Passlack to live up to his name.

      • yeah, when i heard he went straight back to the u-19s (not u-23s) i was actually more encouraged, as it seems to me that he’s not getting demoted–they just brought him up for a period, (hopefully) saw what the wanted to, and are getting him back to his team.

incidentally, passlack–along with pulisic–is supposed to be the next big thing in dortmund’s academy. so i think jack’s first sentence is right on.

    • I would be more worried over AJ not making the team sheet for Weder Bremen after being cleared from his injuries than Christian Pulisic not making the team sheet for Dortmund.
