The UEFA Champions League returns on Wednesday with a pair of quarterfinal clashes.

In a battle between two of the world’s richest teams, Paris Saint-Germain plays host to Manchester City, who will be without Yaya Toure for Wednesday’s match. PSG will be putting all resources into UCL play as the Ligue 1 powerhouse has already wrapped up their domestic title.

Real Madrid also takes the field on Wednesday in a quarterfinal visit to Wolfsburg. The Spanish club will be riding high following this weekend’s comeback result: a 2-1 win over Barcelona in El Clasico.

Stateside, the U.S. Women’s National Team returns to action for a friendly with Colombia in the wake of an ongoing wage dispute with U.S. Soccer. Elsewhere, the Copa Libertadores continues with a five-match slate of games, while Cruz Azul takes on Nexaca in Copa MX action.

  1. ZUT ALORS! PSG could be up 4 to 1, but Zlatan (yes, he is imperfect) misses a PK and a one-on-one breakaway against Hart, and then they blow an easy cross for a tap in for Cavani. Still, PSG has to feel lucky after the awful giveaway by MC for their one goal. WILD, WILD GAME!

    • Well looking at what they have, I don’t see Morris going and Dempsey will be listed as a forward.

I’d like to see Nguyen, Pulisic and Finlay there for option off the bench but not sure how to manage it. Perhaps drop Bedoya or Zusi and take 4 rather then 5 center backs.

Also like to see a younger DM option rather then both Beckerman and Jones. Don’t really care who at this point.

      • Yeah as Ives said in the article Morris will have to break out of his rookie season slump. Might depend on the formation JK wants to use if he sticks with 4-1-2-3, then Pulisic and Finlay fit well into that formation as wing players, but if he wants to play a 4-4-2 Morris is a better fit.

Not sure after the Guatemala home and away series that JK would be willing to gamble with only 4 CBs after two went down in a week. Although Cameron and Birnbaum can play both CB and RB,

I haven’t seen Williams play at Reading, but he seems to be much more offensive minded so again if its the 4-1-2-3 not sure he fits into that DM role.

      • I have not read the article but I dont see why Morris would be included, he has looked average at best with both Seattle and U23.
