The U.S. Men’s National Team was firing on all cylinders in their final tune-up before the Copa America Centenario, and Alejandro Bedoya’s dynamic play in the midfield contributed greatly to the squad’s success.

Coming off of a fantastic season with Ligue 1 side Nantes, Bedoya has continued his success with the USMNT in the attack. The 29-year-old assisted on the team’s first two goals on the evening against Bolivia, earning the midfielder SBI USMNT Man of the Match honors.

Gyasi Zardes was the recipient of Bedoya’s first helper, when he ran onto a long ball over the top of the Bolivia backline. The U.S. doubled their lead in the 37th minute, when Bedoya centered a pass across the face of goal to center back John Brooks, who tapped in.

Bedoya’s performance earned him honors as SBI USMNT Man of the Match over Zardes, Christian Pulisic, John Brooks and Michael Bradley.

What did you think of Bedoya’s performance? Which player stood out to you against Bolivia?

  1. Remember when everyone was making their starting lineups? Who had Besler and Orosco starting as outside backs, or Zardes starting, many left out Dempsey and Bedoya. I was similarly incorrect.

OTOH, I was right when I said JK will do something else.

      • Jermaine Jones was excellent in this game, just as he was against Ecuador.

Patience youngsters. You have much to learn!

    • I’m fine with beckerman riding off into the sunset after the copa. Clint should transition to the aging striker sub role he fits perfectly (choosy with his effort). And jones should be that 65′ veteran sub to hold the results in a game or incite a spark in the midfield.

      Zardes/Pulisic – jozy – wood/gyau

      Nagbe – Bedoya
      Bradley
      FJ Brooks GC yedlin

      2018 WC roster? lol
Only 4 players over 27; Bradley, FJ, bedoya, GC. All of whom are solid vets

Clint hopefully still available off the bench.

    • I agree about Dempsey and Beckerman. I don’t think Dempsey would ever accept the sub role which I think he could still help us in. Jermaine Jones is a monster. I see people saying he had a bad game last night and they are wrong. He was all over the field and made nice defensive stops. Good to see him back. We missed him last year during the Gold Cup.

    • Ah, yes, we voices in the wilderness are vindicated. I believe I wrote something like, for those of us who watch him from week to week, we aren’t so quick to criticize because he plays well for the Galaxy. In short, don’t give up on Zardes too soon.

      • without being quick to judge… he still has no first touch. You can’t just shoot every time you touch the ball.

      • Where is zardes going to fit in with USMNT in a year or two, he had a good game tonight but with if they stay with a 4-3-3 Wood, pulisic, jozy, Morris, and people might not like this one but gyau is getting healthy and haji Wright is killing it in Germany not to mention Green, kieswetter, arriola, Rubin, and there is probably a few more that are out there. Good kid, not international level, sorry galaxy lovers
