Impressive displays by some had many top teams disappointed with weekend results. Here are SBI’s picks for the weekend’s best (as voted by SBI’s editorial staff):

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

SADIO MANE (SOUTHAMPTON). Manchester City’s hopes of a top-four finish took a major blow on Sunday, and Mane was responsible. The Senegalese attacker netted a hat trick to help Southampton earn an important 4-2 win against Man City.

Honorable Mention – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Lionel Messi, Andre Ayew

TEAM OF THE WEEK

BORUSSIA DORTMUND. Needing a win to keep German Bundesliga title hopes alive, Dortmund easily obliterated a strong Wolfsburg team, 5-1, at Signal Iduna Park. Dortmund still needs a bit of luck to claim the crown, but its performance on Saturday demonstrates why it’s not only one of the best teams in Germany but also in Europe.

Honorable Mention – Southampton

MATCH OF THE WEEK

WATFORD 3, ASTON VILLA 2. Aston Villa were moments away from doing something that has not happened too often this season — win. However, Troy Deeney spoiled the day. Thanks to the 27-year-old striker, Watford pulled off an incredible come-from-behind win. Deeney scored the game-tying goal in the 90th minute before netting the game-winner approximately three minutes into stoppage time.

Honorable Mention – AC Milan 3 – 3 Frosinone, Club America 3 – 3 Monterrey

GOAL OF THE WEEK

OLIVER KRAGL (FROSINONE). The German midfielder hit the best free kick of the weekend, drilling a low but pacey effort past AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Honorable Mention – Maxwell
