Just days after claiming a U.S. Open Cup victory, the New England Revolution were asked to travel cross country on short rest in pursuit of the team’s first road win. Facing a Western Conference contender, the Revs did just that.

Led by goals from London Woodberry and Kelyn Rowe, the Revs captured their first road win of the year with a 2-1 defeat of the Vancouver Whitecaps while earning recognition as SBI MLS Team of the Week.

Following a 31st minute opener from Woodberry, the Revs saw the scoreline leveled once again on a set piece finish from the Whitecaps’ Nicolas Mezquida just before halftime. After emerging for the second stanza, the Revs retook the lead for good in the 55th minute through Rowe. On the defensive end, Brad Knighton stood tall after a solid performance against the Carolina RailHawks midweek, as the Revs goalkeeper made a trio of saves to confirm an impressive road victory.

The win pushes the Revs into sixth in the Eastern Conference, while claiming SBI MLS Team of the Week honors over the New York Red Bulls, New York City FC and Sporting KC.

What do you think of the Revs’ performance? Which team stood out to you this past weekend?
