Toronto FC’s midfield was about to experience a major boost, but a pair of injuries have now robbed the Canadian club of two of its key pieces.

Michael Bradley and Will Johnson are each set to miss six weeks due to injury. Bradley recently rejoined the team after featuring at the Copa America Centenario, while Johnson is fresh off a late goal that secured TFC the Canadian Championship earlier this week.

Bradley’s injury, a knee sprain, was suffered in the Copa America third place game, a match that saw the U.S. Men’s National Team fall to Colombia, 1-0. Bradley started each of the USMNT’s matches throughout the Copa America after making 12 appearances for TFC in the run up to the tournament.

Johnson was diagnosed with tibial plateau fracture shortly after scoring TFC’s winner against the Vancouver Whitecaps. The Canadian international, in his first season with the club, has appeared in in 18 total matches with three goals and two assists.

TFC returns to action on Saturday against the Seattle Sounders.

What do you think of the injury? How will TFC cope?

  1. If I was Michael Bradley I would not play anymore for Klinsman or any of the wimps here who dislike him just because. Let’s see how all those “ready to step up” replacements we have do once CONCACAF heat gets to them.

      • Lol. Wychijeff, your sarcasm meter is not off.

This may at least give him some rest time. You never want him or any other player to be injured, but there is some silver lining here. This may get him the time off he needs to get back to his best, both physically and mentally.

    • Wow, even a real doctor wouldn’t dare to make a diagnosis without seeing the patient and examining him. That doesn’t stop internet trolls, however.

    • If Bradley were playing in Europe JK wouldn’t have played him in the third place game.

Come to think of it: as bad as everyone on this board says Bradley played in the Copa, i don’t understand why Klinnsman played him anyway.
