After nearly eights in charge at Orlando City SC, head coach Adrian Heath has been fired by the club.

The decision came on Wednesday night, after Orlando City began the 2016 season with a 4-4-8 record and 20 points through the team’s opening 16 matches. With just two wins in the side’s last 12 games, the Lions currently sit on the outside of the Eastern Conference playoff standings.

Assistant coach Bobby Murphy and Orlando City B coach Anthony Pulis are said to be the interim replacements in the wake of Heath’s exit. Additionally, assistant coach Mark Watson has also left the club.

During Heath’s tenure, Orlando City went 26-21-31 in his 78 matches as head coach. The 55-year-old previously coached the team during its USL Pro days, leading Orlando City to two titles in four years.

The former English midfielder took charge of USL expansion side Austin Aztex back in 2008, before the club relocated to South Florida two years later.
