As playoff races continue to intensify, several MLS contenders take the field on Saturday looking to build some steam as the summer months push towards a close.

Headlining Saturday’s MLS action is a clash between Western Conference contenders as the Colorado Rapids take on the Vancouver Whitecaps. The former enters the weekend looking to shake off a resounding defeat to NYCFC last time out, while the Whitecaps saw their CONCACAF Champions League campaign get off to a successful start with a midweek win.

In the East, the Philadelphia Union will be without Alejandro Bedoya for a clash with D.C. United. However, fellow recent acquisition Charlie Davies is in the 18 for the Union, who will be looking to make a statement after emerging as winners of the transfer window.

Elsewhere, Sebastian Giovinco and Toronto FC hose the New England Revolution, the Montreal Impact take on the Houston Dynamo and the Chicago Fire visit Rio Tinto Stadium to take on Real Salt Lake.
