The UEFA Champions League returns on Wednesday, and Fabian Johnson will look to lead the contingent of Americans Abroad into European action following a slight delay.

After seeing Tuesday’s scheduled match postponed due to weather, Johnson and Borussia Monchengladbach take on Manchester City in their group stage opener. Joining Johnson in Champions League action is Christian Pulisic, who could see time as Borussia Dortmund takes on Legia Warsaw, while Cameron Carter-Vickers and Tottenham faces Ligue 1 side Monaco.

In the CONCACAF Champions League, Edgar Castillo’s Monterrey face Arabe Unido as the Mexican side looks to erase a three-point deficit against the group leaders. The Copa MX also returns on Wednesday night, as the Tijuana contingent take on Toluca. Finally, Eric Lichaj takes the field in league action when Nottingham Forest faces off with Rotherham United.

Comments

  1. Tijuana is in an all or nothing position tonight a win on the road at Toluca and they win the group and reach the knockout stage a loss or draw and they are out. Brandon Vazquez, 17 year old American, saw his first, first team action in the last Copa Mx match for Los Xolos not sure if he’ll get in tonight with the stakes so high.
