Americans Abroad: Weekend Preview

Aron Johannsson Bremen

Following a busy slate of midweek games across Europe, the German Bundesliga headlines this weekend’s Americans Abroad with several head-to-head matches.

Headlining the potential clashes is a meeting between Fabian Johnson’s Borussia Monchengladbach and Aron Johannsson’s Werder Bremen, while Bobby Wood’s Hamburg faces Terrence Boyd’s RB Leipzig. Following Bayern Munich’s big midweek Champions League win, Julian Green will hope to join the fray on Saturday against Alfredo Morales and Ingolstadt.

In other Bundesliga action, Christian Pulisic and Borussia Dortmund face SV Darmstadt following a Champions League thrashing of Legia Warsaw.

Dutch soccer also provides a head-to-head matchup,  Rubio Rubin and FC Utrecht face Desevio Payne’s FC Groningen. 1. It would be nice if you also listed the times and networks these games are on on this page. For instance, on the above: Christian Pulisic and Borussia Dortmund face SV Darmstadt- why do I have to switch to another page on your site to see the time and network?

    • We can hope, but this RB Leipzig team is better than most would have expected being new to the Bundesliga. RB has been very impressive so far this season playing a technical & attacking style while keeping defensive Discipline. While Hamburg hasn’t been what I’d call very good at either creating or defending. Wood’s goal last week was Incredibly lucky.
