MLS Ticker: Jewsbury, Scott, Marshall and more

Two long-time MLS players will call it quits at the end of the season, while a third veteran isn’t quite done yet.

The Portland Timbers announced that Jack Jewsbury will retire at the end of the 2016 season. Jewsbury has made 348 appearances over his 14 year MLS career. (REPORT)

Their Cascadia rivals, the Seattle Sounders, announced that Zach Scott is also retiring at the end of this season. Scott has spent 15 years in the Sounders organization, including 8 in MLS. (REPORT)

The Sounders also confirmed that defender Chad Marshall has signed a contract extension that will see him remain in Seattle for the 2017 season. (REPORT)

Orlando City SC announced that the club has hit their cap of 18,000 season tickets for the upcoming 2017 season in their new stadium (REPORT)

Nicolas Lodeiro was included as the Uruguayan football administration announced their lineups for October’s World Cup Qualifiers. (REPORT)

    Unfortunately all of these players will return again next season.
